Snake in CT

I found this guy today during lunch outside of my school... any idea on what it is (i figure its just a garter snake but im not sure)
It was 2-3 ft long ... in the northwest corner of CT

Yes, that is an eastern garter snake, Thamnophis s. sirtalis.

Ah, the most common snake in Connecticut, the Eastern Garter. Musk specialist!
