Leo egg---been in incubator forever

hunterjackson May 25, 2006 06:08 PM

I have a leo egg which has been in the incubator since 3/12...it is just getting heavier, so signs of mold, smell, or anything to signal death. What should i do? Just leave it? Do they usually take this long?

Any help is appreciated!

at what temp are you incubating it at?
at lower temps 75-81 it will take longer for the egg to hatch at higher temps above 84 it will be shorter .
the average length of time is around 60 days i have read but i my self have yet to get eggs.

Well, you are at 75 days, I guess it could still be good. I'd give it another week or so. I'm not sure what the longest incubation time someone has had at 80 degrees, and I've never incubated at that low of a temp.

I incubate at 82 F and some have stretched into a 140 to 150 days. If it still looks good just leave it alone, it might hatch yet.

That is what i am hoping for. I appreciate your help!
