What is a good estimate of my---

sliders age if his shell is approximately 3.5 inches long? Thank you very much---Scott

If your sliders shell is 3.5 inches long, he/she is most likely less than 5 years old.

Knowing more about its previous history would help. Did you catch it wild? If so, theres a better chance it is a couple years old.

Most people that keep turtles as pets feed them much more than they would eat in the wild. Also they feed them year round, wild turtles take a break for hibernation. I have seen RES go from hatchling to 5 inches in 1 year.

I have also seen a 2 year old RES less than 2 inches long.
