This actually is not an incicater of future coloring. Both my normal female & wild type male have quite a bit of color right below the ear, and nothing pretty much anywhere else.

Over the years, andd in a few of my babies I've noticed a sign of future color to come. These basically come from high color lines to begin with, but I notice red-orange dots throughout the body. Just little dots of very bright color that seem to explode/expand as they grow, and they really fill in with solid coloring. I also can get a good idea by looking at the banding on the tail. When I have a baby that's tail seems to be all color (saturated through the white bands) watch out it's gonna scream with color!!!

Ear color doesn't mean anything. Just about every dragon I have seen has a little color around the ears, be they normal, transparent, pastel, hypo or whatever.
