To be honest Chris I have never saw or heard of anyone probing their dragons. I'm not sure if they have anatomy different or more delicate then snakes, and that's why it's not done or if it's the fact that if you wait till they are good size 10-12 inches sexing is as easy as lifting the tail back and seeing if they have 1 or 2 lumps. Females believe it or not have smaller vent holes (that may be something easy for you to notice or check on the few you are not sure about).

Sexing very young is tricky, and if they are really tiny like just hatched it's possible it will look female, but the hemipenes have not dropped or seperated into place yet. Early males are easy to sex, females can be tricky, and change up on ya. It's like once it sexes male there is no chance you have a female, but young males could sex female before they are situated or developed there.

I would wait to hear from someone who has done it, as I have never heard probing being used with dragons. Popping I know is a huge no no, as undeveloped males could have problems pulling their hemipenes back in.

Hi
i realy not know why you should probe r pop.
you can already see sex on a early age.
if they r 3 weeks old i already can sex them only by looking at the vent and bumbs.

there you can see how to sex a beardie.
so probe r popping can hurt and looking not.

I don't think probing bearded dragons is a good thing, I seem to recall reading alot of negative thoughts on the subject. I just can't remember if probing is just not accurate or just dangerous to the dragon in question.
