Thayeri Clutch is hatching!!

mheidka May 26, 2006 11:38 AM

I came home last night to find a lovely surprise! 3 of 11 are out of their eggs and as of this morning, 3 more heads were poking through. The baby photos are from last night. Interestingly, the head patterns on the first two resemble that of the father. The head pattern of the third is almost a carbon copy of the mother's. I can't wait to see what the rest of them look like!

These pictures were taken this morning. #4 was starting to come out of it's shell, but changed it's mind and went back to bed...

Great Job Maria.... Is this your first time to see thayeri hatching? Watching babies pip has to be the most rewarding thing in our hobby.....
I can't wait to see some eggs over here......Like I said.... I am way behind, but patient.....
Congratulations Maria....Fine looking thayeri hatchlings....healthy little things too. How many days of incubation before they pipped Maria?

...and I can tell already that I'm going to be a hardcore thayeri breeding addict!!

They started piping yesterday at day 55. A bit earlier than expected so it was a great surprise to come home to!

Thanks, John!
