Most people on these forums will tell you that you shouldn't keep any snakes together, let alone different species, let alone from different parts of the world.

I honestly don't recommend mixing snake species.

As my memmory serves, there have been reports of snake eating by burms. Not worth the risk of keeping a possibly expensive meal in the same cage.

you are looking at different enviroment set up for those snakes. not to mention the bermese would way out grow the rainbow. what are you thinking???

its definately not recommended but its your world.

not only is keeping the 2 together wrong because of the fact they are 2 different species but the chances of a boa carring IBD and passing it on to a python that cannot survive if it caught the IBD . where as a boa can carry the dissease and not be affected , but a python wont live and the only tests that can ID IBD are done during a necropsy. to the best of my knowledge.never mind the fact of other illnesses

Are you crazy? The rainbow boa needs to be kept in a super moist environment, much different from the dry habitat the boa or burmese would need. Get yourself a corn snake.

If my memory serves me correct, boas CAN get IBD.

Is it necessary to dump on a newby and tell them they need to get a corn snake? Every one in this hobby knew nothing when they started. Outside of a bit of humidity difference, and temp, there's not much real difference between a rainbow or common boa or corn. People need encouragement and help, not getting dissed.

The whole reason I come to these forums is to learn. I have asked questions before and been insulted for my lack of knowledge. We are not all born with the proper understanding of reptile keeping. If people are intimidated into not asking questions, then they will go ahead and try things that could lead to disastrous results and the hobby loses another person.

Just my $0.02.

I've been keeping herps off and on for over 45 years, and I still learn.
