I have one yr old pyro . I shut off the UTH yesterday as room temps where he is in average high 70s(76 to 78) at night low 80s (8o to 85) during day since temps warmer now .

I actually am thinking of moving him to cooler basement as might be to warm for him. What temps do you provide for your pyro ? . I imagine you shut heat off for your collection during summer ?

He has been eating like a pig which I am thankfull for as he "slept" for 2 months in winter in cool area of his tank.

The pyro,pyro are fun snakes to keep but they can decide to go on hunger strikes when they want to stay on the cool side of the enclosure, go figure? Luckily for me the snake in the above pic is a non-stop eater all year round.
As for temp i use the back of my hand to the bottom of their enclosures if it feels hot i adjust it accordingly, if too cool like wise.

Okay thanks for some reason I thought you heated the room . The room he is in now ranges from mid 70s to high 80s so might just put him in basement with UTH for the summer as cooler there . I prefer to keep him in den but think to warm for this type snake in summer .

I do have portable heaters in my snakeroom as well as heat tape in all my racks. If the room temp. gets over 90 everything gets shut off and stays off until it gets down to 70. And yes during the warm months i don't need to heat my snakeroom.
