Mark, i did what you said and put a smaller enclosure in the males cage and put my new female cuban in there. left her in there for 5 days. when i let her out, he bit the back of her neck a few times but not rough at all and now they are peacefully cohabitating. it seems that when they are let out of the enclosure to free roam, he gets "in the mood" she tends to turn her back to him and not let him do anything though. so thanks for that input. it worked great!
