Ya, It looks like this forum has slowed down a bit, have you gone out looking for any of the Horned Lizards?

MAybe part of the reason is we are going through a drought, and many of the horned lizards are not showing. Also horned lizard avialibilty has only become recently on the internet. It wsill pick-up, if you look at past posts there is nothing dead about this site.

Well, first off, wish there was HL's in michigan, but not so.Looking at a 70 gallon Aquarium at this point.Plus every ant hill I pass now while out mowing or whatever, I say " oh, there's another one".Yea , I know there not harvesters, but thought might be able to mix some in.Have got a few leads on HL's, was hoping for something like I used to have years ago, which I guesstimate was a coronatum.(Not sure if there still legally an option) the platys are ok, solare would be nicer.Like the round horn configuration.Looking into lights and such, can't do this unless I am prepared.thanks to this site, I feel much better about it.I know this is a bad question. I was talking to a chemical engineer at work, asked him about formic, he said its not a real strong acid, and it is used in the agric industry, some on hay and such. Was wondering, has anyone thought of putting a little on lets say ants that are not of the harvester variety. Please don't shoot me up to much on this question.I am concerned that things are right. Also , are the harvester ant ebay item someone from here?,thanks scott

Scott you can get the ants from antsalive.com shipped to you from Utah, The 70gl. tank will be nice, will need a lot to keep it heated though.

Hi Scott,
This question about ants comes up several times a year and has been answered many times. One of the cool things about the forum is you can search it for key words. If you search formic or ant's you will have more info that you can shake a stick at.
The short answer is that nobody has figured out a good substitue for the many components that make up an ant.

Hey Scott,

I'm the one that had put up harvester ants on ebay. Not a whole lot of traffic there from HL owners looking for feeders though.

Also about another question of yours; my ex bought me a small ceramic HL statue several years ago. It's now a permamnent fixture in the tank. Everybody thinks it's the real lizard, unable to see the real real one burrowed in the sand.

Mike
