Are the males or females larger when it comes to GBKs? Blairs to be exact. And by larger, both longer and in girth. Thanks for the help everyone.

I've found a few females in the wild that were around 3'
, but not many. everyting over 3' has been male. The largest was a 45" male from hwy 277 before it became over-collected. I'd say that, for alterna in the wild, the females have a bit more bulk than males as a rule, but not always.
Have to figure that the males don't have the strain of bearing eggs for over a month out of each season of activity and this takes a lot out of them so the males have an advantage on both growth and bulk. I've found several females that have just laid eggs and they look 2 minutes from death.
I see much larger snakes, both length and bulk, in captivity than in the wild. They get better food, don't have to work for it, get more of it and get it over a longer period. And I've never had a w/c gravid female give more than 8 eggs. Most give around 6. The smallest w/c gravid female I've found was 27" and she gave 4 good eggs. she was the only gravid one I've found that was under 32".
Hope this helps.

The reason behind the question is I have a "male and female"?, both Loma Alta. The male is 1 month older. Both less than a year old. He is 4 inches longer, as well as twice as big in girth. Just wanted to see if this was the norm. He definately has a much longer tail. Thanks for the input.
