The wayward ones

Well, I had a couple of escapees. Evidently I missed two during my initial search of the vivarium (hard to believe but it happened before, deep substrate, lots of nooks and crannies). Say hello to number 12 and 13:

Pretty sure thats all of them.
Mike, I'll have to update my stats!

...I am very happy for you. I remember that our very first litters were born close together on the Rainbow Forum quite a few seasons ago. I have had my fingers crossed for you ever since then.

Pretty little buggers too!

Linda

almost done that. I had one hide in the vent before, was all curled up in it. It's about 15" off the cage floor, the lil buggers can climb. I was just closing the cage when I saw it.
One of last years babies.

Congrats, it's like two freebies!!!

Dave,
It actually was a little more dramatic than I first indicated. The vivarium I have is heated by lamps that are separated from the living area by a heavy, coated screen that a neonate BRB can easily pass through. The back side of the heat lamp area is open. After the first litter and the mass escapes I placed a heavy plastic sheet over this opening to prevent escapes. The day I went to get the babies out I removed this plastic to make sure none were snuggled up between the plastic and this 'lip' from the cage. I did'nt put it back. On sunday my mom called to tell me she found one caught in the door jam of the back door (bless her heart she carefully helped free it and placed it in a plastic container). When I got there I found a second one in a potted plant next to the cage. I can only hope there are no more cruising around. The one caught in the door jam was uninjured by a little dehydrated (I held a water bowl and it drank from my hand and spent all day yesterday soaking). The one in the potted plant was nice and moist!
Always an adventure.
Thanks,
Paul
