grey banded king bites

JL1981 May 29, 2006 12:26 AM

Has anyone ever been bitten by a greybanded king? If so, is it any worse than a cornsnake bite?

I've had GBKs for about 4 years now, and I have never been bitten from them. I have 6 of them. My large female is my most docile snake. Are you thinking about getting one? Go for it! They are awesome. An adult cornsnake is bigger than a GBK, so a cornsnake bite would probably hurt worse. Derek

w/c alterna often bite when first caught. Interestingly the females are more apt to bite. Many females I've found in the wild have bitten me several times while males usually either don't bite or bite just once. It isn't a bad bite. with smaller alterna I've not known they were biting until I looked down and saw them chewing on me.
It is as likely to be a chewing bite as a quick nip but it is rare that any signs of it will be evident the next day.
