I started dating this guy and when we started talking more and more, I told him I loved snakes and that I had a few. (only 3 at the time, but i had over 40 cages, mostly lizards and frogs though). He almost dumped me on the spot. He was terrified of them. His dad is too. I think its hilarious. Needless to say, once he met Scarlet, my little tiny red tail (she was like 2 ft. at the time) he thought she was adoreable. We got married last october. And now he's all pissy at me again b/c we've spent over 2 grand converting the garage from 'his' to 'hers'. he wants to work on cars, and I want a huge area for reptiles. hehehehe. When we first got our biggest snake (zeus, 12 ft burm) he let him out of his cage the morning after we brought him home and didn't tell me. (he thought he could handle it after handling my little guys) In the end, the snake cornered him by the door and i thought he was going to cry. Hes yelling at me to "GET HIM! GET HIM! IF HE BITES ME I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!". so huge, round, 7 months pregnant me has to STOP LAUGHING MY ASS OFF and pick up this snake and put him back in his cage. Then after i got the top on, i turned around, and my then boyfriend was leaning against the wall in the bathroom peeing. There was sweat dripping off him for like 20 minutes after that. I just can't believe he married me after that. He and Zeus still aren't too good of friends and we're about to get a 20 footer burm and a 25 footer retic through the rescue. Now I'm pregnant again, so this should be interesting. I love telling that story. I still laugh about it.... So eventually you will find a girl that loves the snakes more than she loves you... Theres not many out there, so you better hold onto her when she does come along...
