I live in Phoenix, Arizona. 13th street and Bell. I hike at Saddleback Mountains. I have never seen a snake. Even when I lived out in the middle of the desert (Rio Verde) for 4 years I only saw 2 snakes! A rattler and a gopher. Everytime I hike on the mountains I look for snakes (kings, rosy boas, gophers, sand snake....etc.) Not looking for rattlers or anything venomous. Me and my boyfriend have done "flipping". Flipped over big rocks. Nothing! Not one snake. Only saw one baby lizard!

What are the best places to find snakes??? (in Phoenix, close to 13th street and Bell)
And whats the best time to go???
Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated.
