Cage question

Tarzana Jul 31, 2003 02:46 PM

Can a baby/juvenile be put right into its adult cage. I have heard that they need to be kept in cages that are small, and need to get bigger as the dragon does. This didn't make sense to me, because I always figured the more room the better, so I was just wondering if it was true. Thanks

they say a smaller cage because its easier for them to catch their prey and also can be less intimidating for them, i use their adult cages from the get go and i have found them to be just fine, but thats just my opinion, just be sure your baby has no problems catching their meals, you can always feed them in a seperate enclosure to eliminate this problem. Also be sure you have a hide spot for your little one.

Thanks for your answer. About the hide.....I read online somewhere that they said hides were bad for babies because they might hide in it all day and not get the full effects of the lighting. At least I know better now. Thanks again....I will try to find the nae of the site

if they stay in it and dont come out remove the hide, but at night put it back in, they need somewhere to retreat to. Usually if they hide all day there is some underlying cause and a fecal exam would be a good idea.
