A couple of Connecticut snakes

Eastern Garter

And...a first for me. Eastern Hognose, one of the rarest snakes in CT. This juvenile was found in Fairfield County.

Cool looking Hognose. They're really not rare. My colleagues and I find them every year. You have to know where to look, they tend to be locally common.
