Need help! eggs not hatching

dbr May 29, 2006 08:14 PM

Mojave eggs were due to hatch sat/27 but nothing yet. The anxiety is killing me. This will be my first morph clutch ever and these babies dont seem to want to hatch. Is this normal? What should I do?

If they are under 55 days then I wouldn't worrie too much. Although I usually Cut my eggs at between 50 and 52 days. But I wouldn't tell you to cut your eggs because it is your first clutch and you really need to know what you are doing before you go cutting your eggs up. Good luck and I hope this helps. Thanks david

They are on day 62 and still no dents on them. I could still see the veins when I candle them.

Day 62 at what temp? I incubated a clutch at 86 degrees instead of the usual 88 or higher and they went 70 days.
At this point all looks well from what you said, veins still present. You should also be able to see movement. If all looks well, wait a few more days. If the eggs have not started to dent in then they are not ready. Be patient.

I kept the temp at 89. Its hard to be patient. I try to ignore them but i find my self glued to the incubator 28 hours a day. My wife says they are waiting for her b-day, which is tomorrow, to hatch. That will be an awsome b-day present.

if you candle em with a good maglight in a dark room you should see movement or possibly the snakes pattern as he lays against the egg wall.
