How Can I Remove Scratches.......

Sunshine May 29, 2006 08:43 PM

...from high impact (PVC) snake enclosures? The manufacturer recommended #600 sand paper followed by a Turtle Wax application. Others I have spoke with suggested this would be effective only with a final buffing. Do these plastic polish 3-stage kits work on PVC?

Can anyone recommend a specific product or easier solution?

BTW, these are actual scratches, not merely slight surface rub or "rub" marks.

It seems I remember a kit purchased to repair an acrylic motorcycle windshield many years ago that worked well after I layed it on the asphalt.

Thanks,
Linda

Might work and i say "Might" is the PVCX a flat finish or is it somewhat shiny with a textured finish ?

The biggest issue with trying to polish a scrath out with anything i can think of is possible contamination of the cage, The mirror glaze they make ina few different finishes ( buffing , polishing etc) and it rather price as it has a 3M label to it lol .if its a flatfinish your gonna have to do the entire surface of the cage or it will show a slick spot and it might do the same on the textured finish pvcx aswell
