Need some quick advice...

faust16 May 30, 2006 04:29 PM

Getting a vet appointment for her eyes. They've both become shut unless provoked. She's eating, drinkin, and LOOKS fine. (Gorgeous even ) but.. her eyes. She was up at the top of her cage
and i was dropping some water there, she opened her eyes and came up to get some water. She took a big drop, and it splashed all over her face. She drank, licked her lips more or less. However... the water seemed to create a thin "film" over BOTH eyes. She then proceded to thumb her way around her branches... eyes shut.

I had to help her to prevent her from falling and she climbed around on the finger tree 100% blind. This seems... real serious...

right?

p.s. I noticed she is showing some of "squig's" symptoms. Eyes shut... lazy... etc.

I'm glad that you are going to take her to the vets. I think its time.

You said..."p.s. I noticed she is showing some of "squig's" symptoms. Eyes shut... lazy... etc."...do you have her in squig's old cage? Was it well cleaned out before you put her there, if you did?

... we're two totally different people bro. I don't own Squister. lol

I just meant that she is showing what Kris mentioned about Squig. Got a vet appointment tomorrow.

Both eyes are shut and she's not moving around much
i eased her into an area where she usually sleeps and she seems to have settled down. Doesnt appear like she can open her eyes though... they are wrinkly and shaped like small crescent moons

I'll let ya know

I didn't think it was you that had a Squigster when I first read the post...but the way you talked about it, I thought I must have been wrong...good to know that initially I wasn't losing my mind after all....sorry for the confusion.

Bro?? Guess the internet does give some anonymity (sp) after all! LOL!

You said..."Got a vet appointment tomorrow"...good luck! I hope its a good vet and the problem can be solved!

Yup...sis! LOL! (Don't worry faust...I'm not offended!)
I wonder how many others have made this e"mistake" about people who post on here? Even with "real" names like Chris, Taylor, etc.?

You said..."We all lose our minds, the fun part is trying to rememeber where you put it!"...ya...and the older we get the more "fun" we have trying! LOL!

These babies....

I can totally feel where you are coming from. I guess I didn't pay too much attention to Pudge at this age (or remember). This forum has educated me on alot...and maybe too much.

Squig is going through a shed period...I have been trying to "mist" him directly to assist in this, as it seems he is having some retention in skin.

He still is "sleepy" some of the time, but mostly moving about and drinking. He itches his eyes alot until he gets the shed off. After that, he is quite bright eyed.

I am out of crix dust, so will purchase some more....have to go back and look at Eric's post about the "good" stuff.

Keep your chin up...sometimes you just have to accept that you have done everything possible for your pet. I am there, and am letting things take their course. Squig is bouncing back...remember...it takes a long time to show signs of problems, and a long time to get over them.

Good Luck.

Kris
