Pine Plywood

Has anyone had any problems using pine plywood to make cages from? I have alwayse used it but was told that pine was dangerous to use for reptiles, any comments? Thanks

Pine would not be my first choice not because it is bad for reptiles (its the oil, and fine if its sealed). I wouldn't use it cause it is prone to warping and other wood associated problems. Birch or Baltic Birch would be my first choice, oak is just to expensive. If you need a cheap non flat surface (accurate flat surface) than pine will be fine. I use a higher grade pine ply in a lot of my projects, not furniture.

Depends on your use.
