One thing I have noticed is she has her mouth open alot mostly when she is basking, I tryed giving her water on her nose with an eye dropper and she just shakes it off, thinking maybe the eggs are reducing lung capacity. any ideas?

basking and your temps are correct then is is normal and called "gaping" no different than a dog who pants on a warm day.
A lizard just sits there and will keep his/her mouth open for a bit then usually will move somewhere else after awhile.

But check and make sure your temps are NOT TOO hot. 100 -105 even 110 is good. So if your temps are fine I would not worry if she JUST does this while basking.

If she started turning orange on Sunday how mush time do I have to get a corner ready, is that when the 22-24 days starts? should I put a container in the corner to contain the moist sand in that one area and how deep should it be or what is a nesting box and how do I set it up? I gess it's like getting a baby's room ready. looks like I should have titled this as the next batch of questions. one more thing any ideas on what I should do for an Incubator?

Thanks again

22 -24 days after BREEDEDING occurs they lay (approx) now if you do not know when /if breeding occured, you still must have the nest, she will lay eggs anyway (some re-absorb so if you never see any after a long time thats why)just added that in as people sometimes wonder after months WHY and waht happened to her eggs she did not lay and now is looking normal again.

Okay, yes put your nest container in a corner or I use different methods, 2 bricks in an L shape in the corner back of tank and side of tank make a total square, leave an opening/door for her to get in and fill with about 3 -4 inches of dampened sand more if ya want. You can put a removable top on such as a small piece of slate. wood, even a firm book works.

* I have also used 2 rocks kinda stagered (not lined up and then put a piece of slate over.

* A new nest I have used is a medium terracotta pot broken in half, (easy to look in and see whats happening. As long as they feel secure and know they have a secluded spot most will use it.
There are that few (I have some) that do not use anything you make for them, they just lay where they choose, can't argue with an egg laying Mom, ehhehehee in that case just wet some sand here and there if you notice she has picked her own spot.
She will begin digging near her time, digging non stop you will also notice she goes from a famished appetite, to no appetite the closer she gets to laying.

As far as an incubator, I use the hovabator incubator about 34.00 bucks, sometimes you can find one on ebay ....

OR you can just have a plastic shoe box sized container, fill it with dampened vermiculite, put a small hole in the top of container about the size of a quarter.
Put the shoe box/eggs in a place where it will not be cooler/drop below mid/high 70's at night and not go over 90 during the warmest part of the day.

I think thats it if I forgot to answer something , I will when I remember.

As far as the incubator what ya have to do is keep it in a room thats cooler than the temp you will need which is about 83- 84ish. So ya keep the incubator in maybe an air conditioned room that might be in the 70ish range.

You would not be able for instance to put the incubatore in a place that is warmer than the temp you need. I'm sure you understand whant I mean.

The nest looks very inviting, hehehehee if I ever need to lay eggs I will be over, LOL

Isn't that the way it always works? For my lizards I have a really nice, huge basking rock, and another smaller one in the same cage, and they all want to crowd on the smaller one. Go figure. They're just going to do what they want to do.

I have the samething, I have a large basking rock and what do they do, fight over the wood, well not realy fight but knock each other off when they try to all be on the same little spot. you're right they will do what they want, not what we what them to do, I see you have Leopards, how well do they eat? My Leopards will eat but not when I'm watching, I will put in the crickets or mealworms in and they will just freeze and not move, I will come back later and they're plump and the bugs are gone, maybe there still to new and need to get settled in a little more.

Well, my Leopards are a lot more flighty than the collareds, and if they are feeling threatened, they will not eat in front of me. However, they will sometimes chase them down while I'm standing there if I take care not to move too much. Still, they don't eat quite as much as the collareds which may be because they are still fairly young.

My Desert Iguanas will eat as many Crickets as I'm willing to feed them, I stop at about 12 each and if they still want to eat they have greens witch are gone by the time I get home, they will even take the food out of my hands as I'm putting it in there tank
