Female attacking the male.

ssramasw May 30, 2006 10:57 PM

Please help me. My female turtle constantly attacks the male. He has several bite marks on his feet that heal promptly after treatment. I separate her from him for a few days and then reintroduce her to the tank. She behaves herself for a few days and then begins attacking him again. Today she bit off his nail and a little off one of his toes. Despite all this abuse he is still very active and often persues her. In my opinion I will have to permanantly separate them. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.

You've answered your own question. Permanent separation is the way to go now that the male needs to see a vet for some treatment on those wounds.
