I have a beautiful Nigerian Uro, and all the websites in the world havn't given me the info I need to find out if He is a male or a female. I want to get (him) a companion, and i would prefer to get a nigerian red, of opposite sex. Also, what are the tank size recomendations for 2 of them? Amadeaus, my yellow, is right around 7-8 inches long. he's about 2, and happy as ever. would getting a companion do anything to jepardize his happiness? I'll attach a couple pictures if I can, he loves to pose for the camerea!

Adding a second Uro can be a tricky business from what I have read. I had problems bringing a second Uro into the HOUSE becuase my original Uro could see him and wasn't happy about it! If you are interesting in breeding that is one thing, but Uros are not necessarily group animals, so if you just don't want him to be lonely you may want to double think your desire to get a second Uro.

As for sexxing him, there is a way to tell depending on the shape the tail makes when you gently pull it towards their back. On teh understand you get bumps and V shapes depending on genders, but I can't remember exactly how it works, so hopefully someone will post the description again.
