Bloodlines

BaskingRock May 31, 2006 02:39 PM

Has anyone consolidated all of the information that is out there on the various bloodlines that BRB breeders are working with? I'm interested in knowing how many distinct bloodlines there are out there and what specific traits if any are related to specific lines. I figured this would be helpful to know before I purchase additional BRB's to raise up and eventually breed. I also want to make sure I avoid breeding related animals. If not would anyone be interested in sharing what they have found out so far? I have a little info I've gathered and will post if anyone is interested.

Thanks,
Jamie

Good luck Jamie. I imagine you have your work cut out for you. As far as my own collection goes. I have pedigrees that date back to animals that were born in captivity in 1991 (only 3 generations). I started keeping records for my hypomelanistic line. However, I can't trace this line back to the wild. I imgine it is similar with most collections. That's the kind of information you need.

Now, as we are starting to see some valuable morphs crop up in BRBs, I expect breeders will be keeping more accurate records. If you were able to consolidate this information, it would be very worthwhile to have
