Crested Gecko breeding question

violeta May 31, 2006 03:37 PM

Hello everyone,

I have a female that is having eggs. I didn’t see when the mating took place because I put them together to clean their enclosures and next thing I know the female was gravid. Now, I don’t know even if there was anything going on but I was thinking that if she has eggs may as well be fertile.
Should I put the male with her now or it’s not good for her because I can see that she is a little uncomfortable now, she has 2 more eggs coming.

TIA

do you have any idea on her weight? Most people suggest waiting until female cresteds are over 35 grams.... However some have had females lay eggs at 30 grams or before without have any negative side effects. A healthy, decently sized female crested gecko on a proper diet shouldn't have any problem producing viable eggs once she is ready.
