vermiculite?

marito Jul 31, 2003 04:04 PM

i have a question maybe some one can answer, is vermiculite harmful if ingested by leos? i have a moist hide box with vermiculite in it, and whenever they get in there they start kickin the vermiculite around, and some of it often gets inside their bowls!! i have moved the bowls away from the hide box, i just want to know if they are in any harm just in case they did eat some!! well thanx!!!

it can be a problem, but i use it in my humid hides and for incubating, and i never had a problem with them eating it. i've heard that if they only eat a little, it usually passes through easily.
