There are probably more than a few of us here who "feel your pain" as B.C. once said. That happened to me twice last winter. More recently, a gorgeous female, who I really had fingers crossed for, reabsorbed her nice-big-fat-pretty-roundish follicles right before my eyes.....which is one of the negatives of having an ultrasound....you can actually see them deflating and "melting away" as they dissolve into waste material. Not a fun thing to watch
Anyway...sorry to hear this. It is, indeed, a bummer.

Very sorry to hear that, sounds like a heck of a bad year. Just out of curiousity, for my own knowledge, how accurate was she according to date of delivery? I have a gravid female right now that is on day 134 from ovulation, its my first litter so I'm a tad nervous.
I was gone for her swell ( material pickup) so when i got back she still looked a lil larger and then i gave er on the paper feb 1st and today would have been day 119 or 129 i thinkj not really counting now. I have been having a feeling she would do this and sadly i was right she just didnt have that gravid look all along ya know . Its definately been a VERY humbling year for me this year worst in 16 yrs i have had . The one thing that makes me feel better is telling myself the bad litters were not motleys / jungles etc etc
A loss is a loss but still hate to see any t all esp the number i have seen this yr .

That helps a little. I have a 9' female argentine, currently gravid by one of my albino males. her pre-breeding weight was about 43lbs. I have no weighed her since, I am too scared to budge her. She definately ovulated jan 18th. She was swelled for about 2.5 weeks, and then one day, BAM, it doubled in size for about 24 hours, then the swelling was gone for about 2 months, when she slowly swelled again, and has been ever since. Like I said, today is her 134th day, she's had a few days last week I thought she was going to deliver because of her being very active, but nothing came of it. Since then, she's been back in her heat-conservative position.
One thing I have noticed, I'm not sure if it's normal or not, (being my first litter) the swelling literally looks like lumps, looks like a row of golf-balls lined up inside her. Is this normal/good sign/bad sign?
Thanks in advance
Tony
Sorry to hear that Alan.
