Cage Mates

For a while now I have been thinking about getting another bp. I currently have one that is coming up on a year old. I was fully set up by lllreptile with an enclosure that will last him till he reaches 4 ft. My question is can two males be housed together without major problem. I know there are people out there that say you should only have one snake per cage and others that say i house multiple snakes with no problem. Other then the fact that illness can be spread easily between the two and that they could stress eachother out, would it be horrible to have two males living together?

What other reasons do you need? Illness can be spread, and it will stress your snakes. Not to mention, technically they might eat each other though I don't know how often that happens. How are you planning to get around the stress factor? A cage big enough to hold a 4 ft ball is not big enough to hold two and not stress them. How big is the actual enclosure? It's really not that expesnive to get another enclosure. Don't be cheap.

I have quite a few ball pythons, and we have some extra normal males that I just can't seem to part with...anyways, when we get low on rack space I cohabitate them. 100% of the time they go off feed. Back in the day when I only had two balls(females) I kept them in a 60 gallon. The large female ate fine, but the smaller one never would touch a meal until I removed her from the presence of the other female and put her in her own bin. Keep in mind she was in the new cage a week or so and she went back on feed. In my experience, even when you feed balls out of the enclosure(like I did), they still have stress due to the other snake. They may appear that they enjoy each others company, but truly they are just competing! I would recomend that if you want another ball python you separate the two into two different enclosures! I had a long day at work...so If I don't make sense let me know!
