everyone's breeding projects???...

daveb Jun 01, 2006 12:38 PM

so how are the breeding projects going for everyone so far?
-what has already hatched?
-what is incubating and waiting to hatch?
-what still has to lay eggs?

I haven't had anything hatch yet, nearly all of my eggs have been laid in the last 2-3 weeks. I am still waiting on two or three females to lay eggs. last year was a drought- only one good clutch. this year 8 clutches so far, go figure.

SO, whatever you have getula/sticticeps/floridana/meansi/mbk/thayeri/chocolate californiae WHATever, post an update on this years breeding.

First of all, that is a really cool pic. Did you catch that one yawning or adjusting it's jaw after feeding?

Here's what my snakes have done.

I have 5 thayeri that have all laid.

One female laid a complete clutch of slugs.

Another female laid a completely good clutch of 9 eggs.

My one proven female laid 8 good eggs a couple of slugs.

The other two laid mostly good eggs with a few bad ones.

I also have two alterna females.

I have a small River Rd. female that laid 5 large beautiful eggs.
My larger non-locale female is in her pre-shed now and will probably lay in about a week.

I am going to double clutch my proven female thayeri and maybe my other large female thayeri that laid a good large clutch.

I have a 1.1 grayband and 1.2 thayeri group...All the females have laid and looks like I have about 22 good eggs total, so far...I hope I don't screw up the incubation process, since this is my first season...I'll post picks once I figure it out...
