Hi everyone*
My bufo viridis, Penelope, is having a hard time today. The main symptom I've noticed is that her leg muscles are spasming. It makes her whole body shake, and it appears to be getting worse since it began this morning. When she walks, she is almost dragging herself and has trouble keeping her head above water in her shallow water dish. At first, I just thought she was trying to poop...but i've never seen her like this. It is breaking my heart to watch her have trouble walking. She has always been very healthy, and she is quite active and curious. She did shed some skin last week, and I noticed after she shed...her behavior became much more solitary. She would usually come out whenever my fiance and i came into the room, and now she just hides...which might not sound like strange behavior for a toad, but she is usually pretty social. She is in a 20 gallon long tank, with proper hiding spots, plants, bed-a-beast, and a big water dish. I can't find any information on the internet about muscle spasms. Our herp. vet's office is closed, but i spoke to them over the phone and they are going to try and find some information....but please, if anyone has ANY suggestions, they would be greatly appreaciated. We love Penelope, and I can't stand just sitting here and not being able to help her.
Thanks,
Kahle.

Gosh, I wish I knew what's going on with her. What have you been feeding her, how long have you had her and what are her temps in the tank? Could she be too warm?? I hope that your vet can shed some light. I wish you the best.
