Sterlite 41qt. suitable for Adult Milks?

ArctikPro Jun 01, 2006 10:28 PM

Im looking to build a rack that would hold 7 Sterlite 1860/1960 Tubs and the dimension of the tubs are 34in x 16in x 6in. I would to house my black milks in these tubs, but my male gaigae is 5 1/2 feet and the female is at 4 1/2 feet. So my first question is would these tubs be large enough to properly house my snakes withought any problems or are they too small? My second question is how big of a snake could be housed in these tubs? For example, if I was to aquire a 6 foot Black Milk or Honduran could I house it in one of these tubs?

that's a good question.i also use the sterilite 41qt. tubs, the top rim may be 34" but the floor is about 30".if you use the general rule that the length doubled is the maximum length of the snake then they max out at a 5 ft. snake.

i know of breeders who keep there hondos in blanket boxes (27-35qt.) with no problems.perhaps terry or shannon could share there experience here.have fun!

everyone has different personal preference about this. but I would say that the 4 1/2 fotter could probobly go in there. I wouldn't do a 6 footer in those tubs.

I currently am using the Vision #400 cages (4'x26"x14"h) for my adult Black Milks and the Iris CB110 for the subadults. I felt they were more durable and bigger than the Sterlite boxes. I do find myself wondering if the Vision #400s are big enough though in the future. Good luck.
