Major problem with rear feet

HndaRmstn Jun 02, 2006 04:09 AM

Ok, I was recently in a motorcycle accident and was recovering at a fiends house cuz I frequently needed rides to places and couldn't do it myself, well, while I was there I had a buddy of mine stop by my place to feed my dragons, It's been about 2 months and now I'm back. K, I have 3 dragons, 2 brothers and another male. They're all juvies but one of the brothers is significantly larger than the other 2. That has always been, but him being the bigger and more active one, I looked at him first, he was absolutely perfect, like the most desired condition you could ever want a dragon, but the other 2, they were missing their back feet, both lizards, both feet, not just the toes, and not the whole foot. Now I was guessin that Tank, the larger dragon, was to blame, then it was confirmed. I walked in on Tank pulling on Till's foot, there's a part of it that's just hangin there, and he was pullin on it. There is no blood, and all the wounds are already healed. I know this isn't from a lack of food, for sure. Does anyone have any Idea how to stop this and any ideas of anything I could do about their feet, should I pull off that hanging piece? Oh and they're also missin 1/4 of their tails, just the 2, from the same thing, but I know thats common. They seem to be getting along fine with their conditions, it's just wierd how they cope, don't know if there's anything I can do to help.

Seperate them immediately before one fo them gets killed.

Take the injured parties to a vet.

Definitely separate them before more injuries occur. Keep the wounds clean watch for any signs of infection. The wounds will typically take care of themelves, but it is always best to keep an eye on them. Good luck!

ah, I also have a mutilator in my group. Beautiful fella was supposed to be my main breeder, but he mutilates the girls I put in with him. And it isn't a food thing, he has plenty available at all times.

as others said, seperate them asap. males should never be housed together, except with hatchlings, and even then always watch for the bigger ones nipping the others. take the hurt ones to a vet to get treated properly. you can buy stuff called "quick stop" to use in emergencies to stop bleeding. but yes do seperate them ASAP
