black gap celenops

westtexas Jun 02, 2006 10:55 PM

this guy was crossing the road on the edge of a front on may the 25th at about 9:30 pm. this was one night prior to jack's double gray band sighting. the celenops was about 50 yards east of the black gap wildlife management area. the randomization of snake movement is a curious thing, as ive only seen two gray bands in 15 years. good luck to all of you this season, troy w.

Troy, tell about the movement speed of the snake and your vehicle.

i was just telling jack that i was going about 40-50 mph and the snake was moving very fast. its all random to me. i only have control over when i go, not the weather. i dont tell snakes when they should be out either. too many attributions to sift through. anyway, i took a leak on the road (yes in public) about 10 minutes prior. if i would have held it in, i would not have seen this snake. but if i held it in i also would have caught the albino gray band crossing the road. oh well...
