exo terra / hagen heat pad question

electricbluescat Jul 31, 2003 05:48 PM

recently i bought an 03 california kingsnake hatchling. I have her in a small plastic reptile cage cuz I am afraid she would get out of a 10 gallon aqaurium with a screen cover. Has anyone ever used exo terra heat pads on small plastic reptile cage?
shes a het for albino and she costed a little more. So I dont want her getting out. My main concern is the temps melting the plastic I unplugged it for now and its on a thermostat.

thanks for your time,
john

Once again, with proper temperature control, you'll have no worries. A dimmer or thermostat used properly will help maintain the heat pad temp well below what it would take to melt a plastic cage.

I had an esu thermostat on it and the glue started coming off of the pad I so I took the pad off. I may just heat the room instead this winter instead. and I dont want my baby snakes getting out of 10 gallon tank.

thanks,
john
