Yes,first clutch for this pair.I got the pair as hatchlings 3 years ago.

Well that's a very fine looking specimen. Congrats on a successful project. The first clutch is always a major lift for me. It's the feedback that tells me that the conditions I've been providing are reasonable for the species I'm experimenting with.

Best regards
John

I should mention that this girl had a rough time dropping her eggs.1 egg dropped. Two days later 3 eggs dropped. Two days later 1 egg dropped. Two days later last egg dropped this A.M.
It seemed she had given up after the first egg and I manipulated the eggs down with my thumb and offered water to keep her hydrated. Each time I did this ,she would drop.Lessons learned.Don't give up!

Hopefully next year she'll have an easier time. I wonder if some other folks have had some similar experiences.

Excuse my ignorance, but when you offer her water, do you mean to swim in or drink? Thanks John

To drink.Water bowls should be removed at egg laying time to keep the females from laying eggs in the water bowl.
