The habitat shows that Indigos could flourish there, but I have never been lucky enough to spot one. Some of the coachwhips can reach lengths over nine feet, and also be very dark in coloration(no not indigo "blue".

Hey the rain is coming go find some herps and tell US what you have in the area take some pics

peace,
Ian Daviss

I hunt alot in central florida but I never find snakes in sandpine scrub or peppertree fields, so if you do find something let us all know because ocala national forest is 100% sandpine scrub. If it's still dry (no rain) hunt along swamp edges or intermediate ground before noon or at sunset...JB

it is sand and Black Jack oaks ,pines ,palmetto, oaks, blackberrys and dry. like i said all ive found till yesterday was racers,i did see a brown tail race away into the scrub i beleive was a coachwhip

Grab a 4WD and start cruising. There are many different landscapes/terrains to hunt through-out Ocala. You've never seen swamps in Ocala? 100% sandpine scrub? Head off the beaten track with a full tank of gas, and discover what Ocala really has to offer. You will find alot more!

Peace,
Ian Daviss
