6/2 Many Cops and One Ugly Snake

rak Jun 03, 2006 01:03 PM

Like ERK said the DPS was out in force. Juno at 4 in the morning, two parked in Comstock at 4. But I think they are doing some training exercise as the town is over run with Sheriff, DPS, Police, and Rescue teams.

Anyway One snake last night, 10:22 (ERK I Think you passed me right as I bagged it). 6 miles west of the High Bridge

Well, not really,Im still looking for my very own first alterna.I have actully been with 2 different people when alterna were found. The first was several years ago with a good friend of mine JP, we both spotted one crossing hwy 90 while riding together by Seminole Canyon. We flipped a coin to see who got to keep it, He Won!. Next was with another good friend of mine AJ.We were hunting around Iraan just the other night and he spotlighted one on a cut on his side of the road. He tried to give it to me and I said No Way!
I think this is my 6th or 7th year hunting. I keep telling myself the alterna gods are just saving a nice one for me. I'll be heading south shortly to hunt. Who knows, maybe tonight is the night! Cya around Jay Holcombe

I'd a took it in a New York minute! Srike three for me as I saw one live snake and no dor's Sat. night. Right after I met you two I bagged that same rough green snake at the picnic area! He's still there, saw only a red coachwhip on the Langtry loop today on the way out. NOT ONE dor on Juno, 277, or 90 to Osman Canyon, weird! Dark of moon in June here I come. Only whiptails and inverts on the cuts, with a rodent or three.
