Tonight's the night

JohnOH Jun 03, 2006 09:59 PM

My prediction for tonight is that Coach & Mrs. Coach will score at least one alterna. It is their last night and the first night of their pilgrimage this year on which the conditions have looked good - wind SE 8, Barometer 29.86. The barometer and the winds have been all over the place since the start of alterna season, nice to see them stabilizing.
I've missed the first part of alterna season owing to needing a new air suspension system on my car. Got it, then had a brake caliper freeze so will miss this weekend. Why do these things always happen on a Friday afternoon? I could have had it done sooner if I'd let Ford do the job, but since I saved over $3,000 by doing it myself I can live with the time lost.
Sorry I missed seeing old friends and meeting new ones. There are a lot of people posting on this forum with whom I am unfamiliar; I hope to meet you all later this year, perhaps next year.

No way you're getting me out there again. Every time I meet you out in W. TX I leave empty handed and you find an alterna right after I leave. Something tells me I'll be sticking to NM and the Huecos for the rest of alterna season.

Actually, it wasn't the night after you left. It was about 10 minutes after you left. I thank you and Steve S. for waking me up. I tried to catch up with you to let you know, but you were in such a hurry to get back to NM it was impossible.

What about the one you and Romano found after I left?

As for the May 2002 critter....

Yeah, Steve and I decided to hightail it out. I seem to recall it being around 9pm-ish, temps in the mid-high 60s, lots of rain, and lots of wind. Oh well.
