Possible Varanus Species

P_Reticulatus Jun 04, 2006 10:19 AM

I have constructed an enclosure 4' long by 2' wide by 3' tall. The enclosure was originally intended for one of my Scrub Pythons. But I am thinking I would like to delve into the world of varanids. I would like something larger than an Ackie, my favorites are HY Water Monitors but I relize they grow too large for such an enclosure. The other species I am considering are a Yellow, Green Tree, Black Throut*, Rough Neck and Black tree Monitors. What species do you think would be adequate.

Thanks,
Nick

None. Do some research.

Only dwarf monitors would thrive in such an enclosure. V. Acanthurus, V. Tristis Tristis, V. Tristis Orientalis, V. Glauerti, V. Pilbarensis, V. Gilleni, ect ect..
