The Evening Bart Report

lele Jul 31, 2003 06:48 PM

Thursday update:

Stayed on his philo all day, eyeballed some ff but didn't eat, I took him outside for some late day sun and fresh air. While we were hanging out I gave him two ph crix (force fed - it's not really "forcing"!) and a sip of water. When I put him back in his room he walked about three inches w/o falling! Man, that's like a marathon! LOL! His rear legs seemed OK. He did end up falling (don't worry, he was all of 1/4" from soft, moist pt) so I propped him back up and now it's lights out.

I hope you guys don't get bored with my updates! I will stop when it begins to get too repetitious: Bart ate another cricket, Bart had a sip of water... LOL! I'm just so excited, but I am also sad in that I probably could have helped Makeda if I'd tried harder

See you in the morning!

Hey lele, what is your e-mail address, just in case you need any help on your chameleon?

Ethan - I, like any poster, can be contacted via KS by clicking on user name in post. I don't give my email out directly on a forum - sorry.

I'm glad he is doing better, good job!
And DON'T beat yourself up. You did the best you could! Sometimes animals get sick, and they pass on, despite our best efforts. If it wasn't for you and your awesome care, Bart wouldn't have made it this far! You are doing great!

I wish I was having that much luck with my beardies.
Things are looking pretty bad for them.
I know this is off topic but they have "Yellow Fungus" in their intestines.
My vet said my chameleons can't get it from them but I am worried anyway.
It's bad enough if I lose my two beardies. If I lose all my babies I would be devastated.

I'm sure you have already seen this article and from my searches it definitely doesn't seem to be an issue with Chams. The article has some treatments at the bottom. Have you tried them? The Acidophilus remedy makes sense as that is what can help humans balance their internal pH, thus controlling yeast related infections. I truly hope your BD's are ok

Boy, we do have our troubles, huh?
