just got first rack system this week and need some suggestions on what is the best/ most cost efficient/ easiest to maintain substrate?...... Thanks for your help.

Buy a heavy duty 5 page capacity crosscut shredder, and subscribe to your local newspaper. Viola! Cheap bedding!

ive found that with shredded paper the wetness goes right to the bottom of the cage and the paper gets stuck. just regular newspaper is cheaper and easier.
