While I could be wrong in the content of whether it was in fact a law already passed or not.......several townships and or cities have had an reversal on size and the term of constrictor on snakes. Even some on a " contained " species. Overland Park Kansas > all constrictors are to be banned < but most colubrids are constrictors > any snake of 6 foot then will be banned < but rat snakes and the bull snake family are capable of getting 6 foot and over < then all pythons and boas because of size will be banned and due to being " inherently " dangerous < but this is a BLANKET term as several species of boas and pythons don't reach over 2 to 3 foot > the final outcome with the grandfather clause > any Boa or Python restricted then banned of 6 or 8 foot ( forgot what is was ) in city limits. The Grandfather clause > with annual fees and permit including either city zoning commission or animal control agency to having right to inspect. But each year it got harder and harder to keep because the fee of permit kept climbing and I heard the cage requirements kept changing. Only one person fought this law on a continuously bases in O.P. KS because of his very LONG term huge boa.
