My setup is almost complete, 70 gal reptile tank.(Martymade)check out the tank if you get the chance, they are really well made.Nice sliding doors on the front,Locking screen tops.I was impressed with it.I am extremely impressed with solare and taurus HL's.I am fighting the urge to buy from a pet shop.Would rather buy from a breeder or a rescue. Its sad that to some degree the world has left these little guys to where there populations are today.Except for a few dedicated people here and there, they are surely forgotten. It's sad to see different species of this and that vanish to oblivion and never be seen again.I have ordered some books on parasites and diseases also.thanks for any input in advance, scott.

Taurus? Forgetaboutit. Non-existent without good good connects, and it will surely cost you. Better chance of being struck by lightning. Taurus is also so mucho not a good first HL choice either for the beginner. You cannot look at this selection strictly from the what looks coolest point of view.

Solare, much better. But remember ants, ants, and more ants.

A DHL is the best first choice besides the fact they have the best availability. I'd just stress to stay away from the wild caught peddlers on the classifieds that aren't known and knowledgeable members of this forum. There are a many out there, and they know nothing of Horned Lizards besides how to catch them, especially since the DHLs are the least protected overall. Anybody can catch them and box them up. If they haven't been kept a little while by the seller, to be observed for health and treated for parasites...don't buy.

Solare eh? I have an old timer that I am adopting out. I've had her for two years now and she's in good shape. She's been on display to the public for the last 9 months or so and now I just want her to go to a good home. Email me if you are interested.
