What to Breed

SirFredrick Jun 04, 2006 09:10 PM

I am very interested in getting into breeding leopard geckos. Yet, I find the vast amount of different morphs overwhelming. I was wondering what someone would recommend as for a type of Leopard Gecko to start breeding that would be the best overall.

Also, I was thinking about how much juveniles need to be fed. The offspring from one gecko in a season could require thousands of crickets a week to feed. How is the cost of feed these geckos constituted with breeding?

Thanks for any help.

Breeding can be a lot of fun, but also extremely time consuming. First think of why you are getting into breeding leopard geckos. If you are looking to make a lot of money quickly, you will have to do some major investing on the front end and hope to make the money back the following season.

If you are looking to enjoy a hobby and fund it with offspring, geckos can do that for you. High yellows, tangerines, jungles, stripes the list goes on and on. All of them have great market potential and wholesale ability.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. Good Luck!
