RedEyed Tree Frog and setup

Melisssss Jun 04, 2006 09:22 PM

Here is my setup. Please, let me know if I am doing anything wrong here as I am not real sure this is right. I am used to snakes.
20gl critter cage on its side so it stands tall
heatpad under setting for 80 degrees
cocnut husk bedding
water bowl sunk in bedding with 1' treated water in it
driftwood
silk plants

I plan to get live plants but ran out of time today.

Anything I can improve on here?

Thanks!

Well how many do you plan on keeping in there? I myself would only keep 1 or 2 in that set up , but thats just me (10 gallons per frog) anyhow temp should run about 70-82(65-68 at night) and humidity should be 50-80% (50-60% for several months then 70-80%) dry season & wet season. Otherwise everything sounds good (switch to live plants)

I just have one now. I was unsure if putting the tank with a screen top like that so it stands tall on its side instead of on its bottom was a good idea or not. I plan to get live plants tomorrow first thing. I also put black paper over all the sides but the front atleast until he is good and settled in.

Thanks! I look forward to learning a lot about these guys!

Can you post a picture?

I've got my tank setup and have been awaiting my babies. I plan on getting 3 to start and then moving them to a really nice permanent tank next year.

My current tank is 29 gal but has a waterfall that takes up some room and water on the bottom, I have three live plants, the pothos has really gone wild.
