I was in Arizona last week along the San Pedro River nr. Hereford when I spotted this beauty hunting in a field.
My first Coachwhip; awesome snake.

Nice. That one looks beefy. It amazes my how variable these snakes are. Years ago I was in So. Cal measuring the Santa Clara River when I saw a huge coachwhip working its way up the embankment; that one had the pink coloration. Killed me to be standing in the middle of a stream and not go after it.
