i went to take a look at my geckos today and notice that my female has became thinner. see also seems to have a bigger appetite then usual. i didnt suspect anything as i didn't even had the thought that she was pregnant! i did tried to mate them quite a few times but was unsuccesful, except that she was use to be kept with a male. i took out her humid hide, (which is filled with moist soil) and saw a couple of holes and 'hills' made by her. i was flattening and loosening up the soil to level it when i saw this white thing! and i totally got a shock when i realise it was and egg! i didn't expect eggs that quickly! worst of all, i think i accidentally turned the eggs upside down but i'm not sure. i know that leopard geckos lay their eggs in pair and so i started looking for the other egg. and i found it!
i've put the eggs into a container filled with moist soil and allow it to incubate in 80 F. I'm not sure how long have the eggs been in the humid hide but i know that the temperature in the humid hide is around 85-89 F, will this cause any problems? how long does it takes for the eggs to hatch at 80F? i will tried to candle the eggs while in the incubator but all i see is a yellow glow! i really hope they are fertile.
sorry for my bad english.
