Hey Skinner, Oldherper...

I'd be interested if you can pin down the ID on a 4-foot, slender, black snake with WHITE belly in the Dallas-Fort worth area. I figured either an Eastern Coachwhip or a dark Eastern Yellowbelly racer. (See the Field Observation forum for additional description.) What do you think? michaelb

I replied to him the Field notes...it sounds like a Black Racer to me..that's the only Black Snake who's range comes close to that area and it has a white chin...in the heat of the chase if you just see white on the chin and the neck, you could mistake that for a white belly...
