Hello everyone. I have been considering getting into the wonderful world of Morelia spp. lately. Been doing some research, so we went to look at some hatchling IJ's yesterday, and they looked exactly like miniature adult Bredl's. They are beautiful!! Is this brick red with silver normal in this species' hatchlings, or did we stumble onto something else?

BTW, the parents were not in the store, but the gentelman there told us that they were both more rust colored than your typical IJ, accounting for the exceptional hatchlings.

Sounds like pretty typical IJ babies. Here are a couple of baby pics, as well as pics of the parents. They are a great species to work with...

...the red was a lot darker and the creamy/yellow parts were actually silver (does that even make sense?!). The eyes were a really dark gold hue. Even if they are just normals, I think they were GORGEOUS. Think we'll have to get us a pair.

Very nice pics, by the way. I am looking forward to keeping Carpets!
